“Kaarhuset” (which means the house for the retired farmers) is a big villa (280 square metre) located on the border of the venerable farm Amble in Kaupanger, where the oldest building dates from 1690. “Kaarhuset” was renovated in 2005.
You have a wonderful view to the Sognefjord, mountains and a glacier. “Kaarhuset” lies in a quiet and undisturbed place. Parking place for cars is near the house. The house has a big garden.
The house is beautifully furnished with a mixture of Norwegian antiques and modern furniture. On the ground floor you find sitting room with a big and beautiful fireplace, dining room, kitchen, hall, bathroom including a toilet, a separate wc, 3 bedrooms and a wonderful balcony.
On the first floor you find 3 bedrooms and 2 beautiful bathrooms (made in 2005). In each bedroom there are two good beds; one bedroom has a double bed. (The two single beds can easily be a double bed if you like.)
Bedlinen and towels can be hired for NOK 200 per person. Please order this together with the booking.
The house is heated with electricity, but in the dining room and the kitchen you find stoves. Use of firewood is free. The house is equipped with “all” you need: dishwasher, washing-machine, electrical kitchen range, refrigerator, freezer, coffee machine, toaster, vacuum cleaner, radio, TV ( With Norwegian channels) wifi and all sorts of kitchen utensils.
On request we bring you special bed and chair for small children.
In the garden you find garden furniture and a grill.
